Frugal Fix

I'm trying out a new line that just popped up in my local Ulta this past week. Essence is priced pretty competitively and I've noticed a lot of the nail bloggers commenting on how inexpensive the nail stamper is. I swatched the matte navy blue eyeshadow ('Freestyle' is the name), and it was well pigmented for $1.99?!! I was impressed, so it had to come home with me. We'll see how it holds up all day. It's my frugal fix, because I'm trying to save money. So no Nars blushes for me for awhile....

Fav new website - Models.com

Maybe I'm a little slow in discovering these things, but Models.com has super huge images of the shows, it almosts makes me feel like I have a front row seat in Milan or Paris! Definitely worth a gander. Here is the latest Joseph Altuzarra F/W 2010 collection...

Prada Infusion d'Iris

Smelled this last night at Macy's and I am in love. I know where my birthday money is going to be spent now. I already have the original Prada perfume, but it is a bit rich for me for spring. Prada Infusion d'Iris is very light and perfect for the warmer weather that seems to be here to stay.

What new perfumes have you tried? Anything you're loving for spring also? Comment below. I'd love to hear all about it!

LUSH Celestial Moisturizer

Test driving Celestial Moisturizer by LUSH. Special thanks to Linda at the Old Town Pasadena LUSH store for the generous samples.

I'm pleased so far. No breakouts and it doesn't sit on top of my skin. I like it for a night moisturizer more than day. I had the tiniest bit of the 'greasies' yesterday towards the end of the day, but I'm guessing I just needed a good shower,
( all you Moms out there can probably relate...)

One of my absolute favorite makeup looks, created by Romero Jennings for Mac for Carmen Marc Valvo Spring 2010 Show. Strong smoky exaggerated, but structured, eyes and nude glossy lips.

Awesome place my sister and I found on our way back from Riverside. It was mobbed with people, because it was Saturday, but lots of great finds. Converse shoes for the summer, a Cookie Monster video for the little kibbers and some Jordana lipstick, untouched and in some awesome brights!

If you're near Covina, in SoCal, check it out. Cash only, so hit the ATM before you go...

Makeup at Roberto Cavalli Fall 2010

Pat McGrath is such an incredible makeup artist. Anytime I go ga-ga over a new makeup look at a fashion show, I check the credits and inevitably Pat McGrath was the artist responsible for the look. She has done it again with this collection. So stunning and yet understated in a way.

I'm eager to try this out in the fall. I read up on Allure.com for the details. Here's the link...

'Mustard?!' (exclaimed the Mad Hatter)

Am I the only one who sees that we are taking fashion advice from the Mad Hatter?? Look at what he is wearing......and what we are seeing on the runway

Peter Som Fall 2010 - Mustard print tempered with a turquoise/green yoke

Burberry Prorsum Fall 2010 - Boxy and kinda cropped keeps this outfit from getting to neutral...

Carmen Marco Valvo Fall 2010 - Reminescent of Michelle Williams red carpet moment....

Zero + Maria Cornejo Fall 2010 - This collection had splashes of mustard and the show ended on a big note with this remarkable coat

Lela Rose Fall 2010 - Mustard and turquoise, very striking and again, balanced with neutral pants

Lela Rose Fall 2010 - The same hue dressed up a bit

Lela Rose Fall 2010 - A closer look, and fantastic, voluminous messy hair that doesn't make you take it so seriously...

FUR Part...IV? Oh yeah..........

Vena Cava Fall 2010 - Layered over a graphic black/grey scarf the fur takes on even more vibrance than if it was silhouetted by simple black...

Thakoon Fall 2010 - No comment necessary, effortless, primitive, casual, want it...

Peter Som Fall 2010 - For the colored fur lovers...

Nicole Miller Fall 2010 - Strong shoulders

Michael Angel Fall 2010 - Another one for the colored fur lovers...

FUR Part III

Jeremy Lai Fall 2010 - A cowl neck that has gotten out of hand, and yet I want it...
Jeremy Lai Fall 2010 - The cut of this fur jacket/vest is EXACTLY what I want and if it were mine I would never part with it, not even for a Titanic-sized boat load of chocolate...

Devi Kroell Fall 2010 - Feathers, fur, and silky army green

Cushnie et Ochs Fall 2010 - Knitwear and Fur oversized with a teeny mini, and don't you love the eyes...(more on that later)

Michael Kors Fall 2010 - Alone, this fur with hoodie would seem too Aspen-y for me, but coupled with the leather strap accessories, it toughens up in a good way...

FUR Part II

Michael Kors Fall 2010 - Okay, ya gotta be kinda skinny to pull off this look or you end up looking like a yeti...still I like it.

Elie Tahari Fall 2010 - Fur set off by mustard blouse and a fantastic oversized clutch

Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 - Russian doll almost, but in a calmer palette - notice the mustard in the background, I see a color trend in the works...

Elise Overland Fall 2010 - Stunning movement on the shoulders

Isabel Marant Fall 2010 - Shimmer earrings, shimmer blouse, and fur that, well, shimmers. Yet it looks casual. How does Isabel do it?

FUR for Fall Brrrrrrrr........

Isabel Marant Fall 2010

Instead of a lot of excuses for my lengthy absence, I'm just going to dive back in. There is an INFESTATION of fur on the runways for Fall 2010. Not that I'm complaining. Here are some of my favorites.

Fur Part I:

Roberto Cavalli Fall 2010 - Fantastic short sleeve option

Roberto Cavalli Fall 2010 - With faded animal print pants

Roberto Cavalli Fall 2010 - A great option if you can't get enough fur, festoon your feet as well!!

Just Cavalli Fall 2010 - Rock n' Roll red and black fur

Gucci Fall 2010 - A hint of the seventies here

Stay tuned for Fur Part II!!!
